Turn a photo into editable SVG art.

Algorithmic Ink turns the tones and edges in a photograph into lines and shapes. Choose a portrait, pet, or object, remove the background, and download a vector drawing you can keep editing.

Start with a clear subject

Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP image up to 15 MB. A single subject with good contrast and space around the edges is a useful starting point. Background removal happens automatically after you select the image.

The first photo loads a vision model of about 44 MB. Keep the tab open while it processes. The image stays in browser memory; there is no account or image upload endpoint.

Choose how the photograph becomes geometry

Spiral FM follows a continuous spiral and changes its vibration with image tone. Scribble builds a portrait through repeated looping strokes. Circle art uses rings of different sizes and spacing. Triangle art connects adaptive sample points into an outlined mesh.

Start with moderate Detail and adjust Contrast before adding more geometry. Line weight changes how dense the drawing looks. Each style also has two controls for its particular drawing behavior.

Generate, compare, and download

Press Generate SVG, inspect the preview, then download the result. Changing a setting clears the previous result so the download always corresponds to the drawing you generated. Keep the same seed when comparing settings to make variations easier to understand.

SVG stores geometry rather than a grid of photograph pixels. The output contains vector paths or circles with no embedded source photo. Open it in Inkscape, Illustrator, or another SVG editor to change colors, scale the artwork, or prepare a composition.

Plan for the output you need

Higher detail produces more geometry and larger files. If an editor or device struggles, lower Detail and generate again. For a pen plotter, check the drawing size, pen width, path count, and travel behavior in your plotting software before sending it to the machine.

This is an artistic interpretation of a photograph, not a lossless reproduction or a general-purpose logo tracer. Fine textures, transparent subjects, and low-contrast edges may need experimentation.
